  • Must have high school diploma or general education (GED); or 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Must have proof of U.S. Citizenship or have a valid work visa
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR; Class A CDL preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse and fast-paced atmosphere both independently and as a team
  • Must provide own minimum tool requirement. Tool Program available for reimbursement of up to $2,000.



  • Performs tank and trailer maintenance and repair duties
  • Performs standard component inspections and repairs
  • Performs preventive maintenance
  • Replaces defective components as instructed
  • Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
  • Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
  • Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Works in accordance with all Federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Performs shop maintenance duties on a daily basis
  • Performs all work in a safe manner using lock-out/tag-out procedures, PPE, MSDS
  • Reports quality and/or safety problems to Fleet Maintenance Manager immediately
  • Other related duties as assigned


  • The employee will frequently stand, carry/push/lift up to 50 lbs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach up to a level of 8 feet and climb a height of up to 10 ft; Must be able to climb tanker ladder throughout shift
  • May be required to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time and demonstrate manual dexterity while performing job duties
  • The employee will be occasionally exposed to twisting of the back and neck



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to cold, extreme heat, cluttered floor surfaces, contact with sharp object, contact with skin irritants, hazardous cleaning solutions, hazardous equipment (mechanical moving parts), and nuisance dust, fumes, and sprays
  • The employee is frequently exposed to a wet or humid environment, and slippery floor surfaces
  • The employee is continuously exposed to vibrations
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • This position is classified as a safety-sensitive position; Responsible for creating and maintaining a safety-conscious work environment according to policies and procedures
