Our Field Support Staff are willing, ready, and able to assist with milk quality concerns, herd health information, FARM requirements, and cooperative happenings all while offering insight into member programs and industry updates.
Quality Trouble-Shooting
Our Field Support Staff are well versed when it comes to assisting membership with milk quality concerns. We have several methods to help pinpoint the root cause of any quality issue while working hand-in-hand with our member-owners to eliminate the problem. We have also partnered with Eurofins in our Belleview headquarters and have relationships with several outside laboratories which allow SMI to assist you with whatever quality tests you may need.
FARM Program
Southeast Milk is a proud participant in the FARM program. The National Dairy Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) Program ensures the success of the entire dairy industry by demonstrating that dairy farmers are dedicated to healthy cows and wholesome milk.
Our Field Support Staff are trained as FARM evaluators in an effort to work with our members to meet and uphold the FARM program standards. Currently, we are enrolled in FARM Animal Care, Workforce Development, and Environmental Stewardship.
SMILE Program
Every year, Southeast Milk invites our Young Cooperators to attend our Southeast Milk, Inc. Leadership Experience (SMILE). This conference is an opportunity for young cooperative members, ages 18-45, to get to know one another in a casual setting, while developing knowledge and skills that will help them better run their businesses. Each year the location changes, but always remains within SMI’s membership footprint in the Southeast.
Milk and Farm Testing Services
In partnership with Eurofins DCQI, SMI offers lab world-class lab testing services at very competitive rates, including mastitis PCR and pregnancy analysis on milk samples.
