Our farms are always searching for new ways to help reduce their impact on the environment. Some members have adopted technology like methane digesters that take methane gas produced from cow manure and turn it into alternative energy, like compressed natural gas, which can power homes or vehicles.
We also have farmers who have adopted practices to ensure proper management of wetlands on their property. A number of other co-op members have taken on leadership roles within environmental groups, allowing them to tell agriculture's story and give voice to sustainability practices being implemented on farm.
Each farm does things differently, but all of them share the same common goal to reduce their impact on the environment while creating a fresh, wholesome product, and protecting their farming legacies for generations to come.
